About

Worthing Theatre Trail was created following a conversation between Gary and Sue Krost after watching a performance at Brighton Fringe. 'Worthing needs this'... and the Trail was born.

Gary has performed intermittently over the years for various local amateur dramatic societies and Sue just loves to watch. Neither had any experience in arranging events but felt passionately about their idea.

Sunny Worthing, as it is known, is sat on the Sussex Coast. Wedged between Littlehampton and Brighton, it is a lovely coastal town with many independent shops and restaurants, and a group of Artist beach huts. It has a history of writers and actors who have lived here or stayed here, so performance is in the water.

The Worthing Theatre Trail is about bringing local talent to local establishments for the people living in and visiting Worthing, for free. With Venues generously donating performance space, Acts can afford to put their show on without having to charge entrance fees. The talent can be any age, shape or size. The writers and performers are encouraged to produce original or new versions of existing pieces. The venues are varied in and around the town centre, increasing footfall and raising Worthing's profile. The writers and actors get an opportunity to showcase their talent and test their productions. The people of Worthing get to experience Theatre, and see that it's more than Shakespeare and musicals, without it costing them a thing.
